Exposure is one of the oldest and most creative forms of not paying someone. It has been offered in place of money for so long that it has developed its own entire vocabulary. Opportunity. Visibility. A chance to be associated with something bigger than yourself. The person receiving the offer is supposed to feel grateful rather than underpaid, which is a very efficient reframe when you have no intention of writing a check.

If you dont have them already, buy a few cameras for home and work. Fans can get...well...fanatical. You might need to remind him that doxing and libel are both criminal offenses.

I honestly did not think his fans would go this far but im starting to see some creepy comments on my studio page and its actually making me nervous. I have already sent a formal invoice via email, just waiting to see if he actually pays or keeps acting out. Definitely looking at some security options today.

Those consequences will include not releasing the music, going to court to recoup the balance, and drafting a factual social media post to counter the threat of him ruining your business' credibility.
